Akshat Chouhan is a practicing architect, founder principal and director of SHAPES Architects. Akshat’s proficient design skills, substantial ethics and keen business acumen continue to define his self-sufficient firm, which has all the skills needed to transform ideas on paper into real-world realities. Born in Bhopal, he studied at the Sushant school of Architecture in Gurugram. After completing his graduating he worked as a technical design head with Make my house in Indore. He has his post graduation in Urban Design. He established SHAPES Architects soon after achieving his architectural studies in 2016. Under Akshat’s guidance, SHAPES Architects has effectively delivered diverse projects across all scales and buildings typologies such as residential complexes and villas, hospitals, institutional and hospitality , each responding to the unique programmatic constraints and the client’s exact needs. From small projects which are composed with heedful creativity to a highly specialized vocabulary of design to medium and large architectural projects for individuals, corporations, and institutions; Akshat is comfortable working on both ends of the design realm. Each design and construction of Akshat has a philosophy behind it – ultimately merging the building into the background and capturing the ethos and the ambience of the site. He places great emphasis on sustainable planning for all his buildings, giving each one a mark of distinction. Along with the practice he has also been a regular part of guest lectures and design juries in various architecture colleges over the years.
